Next Aimzine

The July edition of Aimzine will be published on Friday 31 July.  In this edition we will be looking at a number of AIM Companies who consider their share prices to be extremely under-valued.

Also in this edition we will feature some particularly exciting AIM companies. As usual Aimzine will include our regular features: Meet the Players, AIM New Girl, Aim Snippet and CityInsider.

We greatly appreciate the comments that we receive from our readers. In particular we must thank those readers who have suggested companies for us to cover. We look at all readers suggestions with interest but regrettably cannot produce articles on all suggested companies. The most requested company, Henderson Morley, we have featured this month.

If you would like to comment on any of our articles or you would like us to cover a particular topic please let us know. Readers can give comments to Aimzine by clicking here or can discuss our articles on the Aimzine SocialGO site

Henderson Morley

Biotech in Transition

As the dust settles on Henderson Morley’s capital raising we take a look at the Company’s prospects going forward.

Life has been very difficult for companies that rely on regular fund-raising to progress their business. This has been particularly the case for small biotech companies, such as Henderson Morley, where the lack of affordable capital has undoubtedly had a major impact on the Company’s share price.

However, things may at last be looking up for this small AIM Biotech. At the end of June Henderson Morley successfully completed an open offer raising £625,000.

AIM Tax Benefits

an Introduction

The removal of Taper Relief from April 2008 has meant the loss of a considerable tax benefit for AIM investors. We can only speculate as to what extent this incredibly ill-timed change has contributed to the under-performance of AIM in recent times. However, despite the loss of Taper Relief there remain some significant tax advantages for the AIM private investor.

Aimzine at One Year Old Edition No 13

Welcome to our Edition number 13 as Aimzine enters its second year. Whilst the economic news is still not encouraging, the outlook for small cap stocks looks bright. In our Market Commentary we note that the AIM All Share Index has outperformed the FTSE 100 in all six months of this year to date. One person who has an explanation for this outperformance is Gervais Williams of Gartmore. This successful small cap fund manager spoke to Aimzine recently about the future for small caps – see our article on ‘The Search for Income’.

We are pleased to carry an article this month by Marcus Stuttard the new Head of AIM as he looks at the prospects for AIM. Also considering the future of AIM is our CityInsider who looks at segmenting the AIM market.

Henderson Morley has just announced that their recent fund raising was successful. In our lead article we consider the prospects of the Company. This will be of particular interest to those who have recently purchased shares in Henderson Morley’s open offer. We are very grateful this month to Dan Flicos, acting CEO and Commercial Director of Sagentia, for his contribution in which he describes two exciting technologies that the Company has developed for their clients.

In our Featured Companies Update there are lots of results to consider - including excellent results from Red24 and ZOO Digital. In a separate article we review the results from Eredene Capital which we covered in the June edition of Aimzine.

Finally, our Aim Snippet article this month features a Company that has already seen its share price more than double in the last three months. However, this Oil Services Group still trades on a low single figure p/e.

Do look out in future on Aimzine Social for an occasional mid-month ‘AIM Snippet’one will appear at 5pm on Tuesday 7 July which will feature a Company just before it returns from suspension.
